A) Hi Lee I would suggest that the first thing you try and do is chop all the weeds and grass down, the best thing for this job is a brush cutter. Once you have done this I suggest that you cover as much of it in cardboard as you can and then cover that with manure and top soil, once you have done this plant the whole allotment with potatoes, By this time next year you will have a weed free allotment and you will be able to grow much more. Many Thanx Aaron.C
Q) Hi there I am the association secretary for the plot of allotments where my allotment is, I was just wondering if you new of any organizations that we could join as a society and what would the benefits be? Thanks Kerry
A) Hi Kerry I suggest you apply to join the NSALG (National Society of Allotment and Leisure Gardeners). They offer a wide range of benefits. Many Thanx Aaron.C
Q) Hi its Lee again I was just wondering what is a brush cutter and what is the difference to a strimmer. Could you also please tell me if you can get petrol ones and how much they cost? Lee
A) Hi Lee a brush cutter is just basically a strimmer but is has a metal cutting disk instead of using line. Yes you can buy petrol ones I paid around £100 for mine. Many Thanx Aaron.C
